DIRECTIONS TO POWNAL TEACHINGS:
Take I-295 to Exit 22 (Freeport). At the top of the ramp, turn away from the gas station and the Freeport outlets (RIGHT if coming from the south; LEFT if coming from the north) onto Mallett Drive. At the end of the road (a short distance), turn left on Durham Road toward Bradbury State Park. Durham Road curves sharply right and becomes Elmwood Road. Drive 4.2 miles to 429 Elmwood Road, a large white farmhouse on the right. Parking will be designated on the days of the teachings. Please bring cushions if possible. 7:30pm - Khen Rinpoche, in conversation with Prof. David
Gardiner of the Colorado College Department of Religion,
presenting Buddhist perspectives on the role of wisdom and
compassion in cultivating a spiritual path.

Suggested donation of $20 - Proceeds to Tashi Lhunpo Monastery
in Southern India and the Siddhartha School in Ladakh.

Preferred seating is available with advance purchase of tickets at
$25/person. Mail reservation requests with check to the address
on the back of this brochure. Make checks out to Tashi Lhunpo
Monastery or Siddhartha School Project. Check in at reception to
receive tickets.


Compassion and the Practice of Chenrezig
Saturday, March 27 from 1:00-3:00pm
Colorado College, Gaylord Hall, main floor of Worner Campus Center, 902 N. Cascade Ave.


Khen Rinpoche will talk about the central role of compassion in
Buddhist practice. Chenrezig is the Tibetan Bodhisattva of
Compassion, and is known by the name Kuan Yin in the Chinese
tradition. Rinpoche will give a mantra blessing for Chenrezig’s
mantra, “Om Mani Padme Hum” and will guide a meditation
on Chenrezig.

An Evening with Khen Rinpoche
Saturday, March 27 from 6:00-9:00pm

Share a meal, inspired by Tibetan and Ladakhi cuisine with
Rinpoche in the cozy Wine Cellar at one of the most revered
restaurants in Colorado Springs, The Blue Star Restaurant.

For reservations, please send checks made out to BodhiMind
Center to the address on the back of this brochure. Food has been
graciously offered by the Blue Star and all proceeds will go to the
BodhiMind Center to support efforts to bring Khen Rinpoche and
similar events to Colorado Springs in the future.

$100 per person. Reservations are required and seating is
limited to 20 people.


Spiritual Practice and its Goals in
Christianity and Buddhism

Khen Rinpoche, in conversation with Pastor Benjamin Broadbent
of First Congregational Church, about the “why’s, how’s and
where to’s” of various core spiritual practices such as prayer,
contemplation, chanting and meditation. Open and engaging
dialog about the power and purpose of engaging in spiritual
disciplines. Explore with us how recognizing both similarities and
differences across traditions can help strengthen trust in our own
practices and nurture solidarity with our neighbors.

Refuge Ceremony
Sunday, March 28 from 6:30-8:30pm
Inner Space at Poor Richard’s, 322 N. Tejon St.


Khen Rinpoche will offer the opportunity to take the Buddhist
Vows of Refuge. Taking refuge in the Three Jewels of Buddha,
Dharma and Sangha is a traditional way to formalize your
connection with the Buddhist tradition and to deepen your
practice. The Refuge Ceremony is appropriate both for new
Buddhist practitioners and for those wishing to renew vows taken
previously, irrespective of lineage. Reservations required.

Consultations
Khen Rinpoche will be available for a limited
number of private interviews March 24th through
March 29th. If you would like to schedule a time with
him, please call Natalie Morris at (719) 649-7235 to
make arrangements. It is customary, but not required,
to make a monetary offering to the teacher, which
should be presented in an envelope with a note.
