Thanks to Dana Sawyer and his students at Maine College of Art (MECA), an ambitious, successful campaign was launched in the early spring to get the Siddhartha School a new bus.

Dana and his students created a fascinating program with a public talk by Khen Rinpoche, and details about Siddhartha School Project were packaged into a very hip ‘zine’ for sale at the event.

As news of the bus campaign reached individual supporters, SSP secured the funding necessary to purchase the school a new bus. Special thanks to Alison Hildreth, Kendra Smith, and Caroline Denham for their generous donations.

The shiny new vehicle, which seats 40 students, arrived safe and sound in Stok the first week of June. The school will start using the new bus this week.

We are so thankful to everyone who generously contributed to the purchase.

The children and staff appreciate the new bus and the kindness of our sponsors who made their lives a little easier to get to school!
