Dear Friends,
I’m delighted to share this discount code (LADAKH) to get $5 off admission to Wednesday’s film screening of “The Shepherdess of the Glaciers” at the Rubin Museum of Art. Our Siddhartha grad, Tsewang Chuskit, who is local to the filming area, will make a special trip from Smith College in Massachusetts to speak and answer questions about the film and local customs after at the screening. We’d love to see you there.

– Sincerely, Executive Director Laura Kozaitis.

ABOUT THE FILM: Presented in partnership with the Siddhartha School Project this award-winning film gives an up-close portrait of a disappearing way of life. For a year, directors Stanzin Dorjai Gya and Christiane Mordelet follow a shepherdess as she guides her herd of goats and sheep across the barren, rock-strewn mountains high above Ladakh, India. With no human companionship except for a small transistor radio, she faces extreme living conditions and moments of unexpected grace.

Following the screening, Ladakh native and Smith College student Tsewang Chuskit will share her experience growing up in the region and answer audience questions.

Tickets: $18.00 (save $5 with discount code LADAKH)
Ruben Museum Member Tickets: $16.20
