A Letter from the Siddhartha School
Partnership’s Board President
Dear Siddhartha School Partnership Community,
On December 31, we made a tough but necessary decision to eliminate two paid positions at the Siddhartha School Partnership (SSP)—the full-time executive director and the part-time social media coordinator.
The reason behind this decision is that fund-raising for the Partnership has been down month-over-month since November 2024, and it became clear that we needed to reduce our administrative expenses until our fund-raising efforts produce more positive and sustainable results. To ensure continuity of SSP’s operations and continued focus on fund-raising, our former board president, Sydney Young, has resigned from the US board of SSP to take on the role of executive director. She will serve in this role as an unpaid volunteer.
We want you to know that Sydney has served the organization tirelessly for eight years; she knows and cares deeply about our community and Rinpoche’s precious dream—the Siddhartha School. She also brings a superb understanding of nonprofit management, having served in leadership on numerous boards as well as bringing professional skills in marketing, brand strategy, and communications to the organization.
Finally, I am, as is every member of SSP’s board, committed to continuing our work in sustaining Rinpoche’s dream. This has been and will always be a collective effort; it is our choice to support this dream as responsible fiduciaries of SSP. We share in this commitment together.
And most importantly, we continue to thrive because of your investment in the mission. The Siddhartha School and its Partnership is your nonprofit; you have sustained us for 30 years. We are grateful to have you with us in this work.
