A Reflection from Siddhartha School

Dear Siddhartha Students, Staff, and Supporters,
As the year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on what truly matters—family, community, and the opportunities we can create for others.
In 2023, Khensur Rinpoche Lobzang Tsetan stayed with me while he was recovering from knee surgery. His kindness, especially toward my grandson Forrest, left a lasting impression. Two years later, Forrest still beams when he sees Rinpoche’s photo.
What makes the Student Sponsorship program especially meaningful is the personal connection it creates. Whether you choose to fully sponsor a student’s education for the year, or make a contribution to the program, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know some of our students through the letters they write throughout the year—a small window into their dreams, daily life, and gratitude.
Earlier this year, my grandson Forrest asked how he could help a child his age at Siddhartha School. We decided to sponsor a student together and were soon introduced to Jigmet Thubga, a lower-kindergarten student. Forrest was thrilled to see that they were the same age, starting school at the same time, and learning to read and write together. He now proudly shares stories about Jigmet with our family, imagining their shared experiences and milestones.
