Celebrating Indian Independence Day
Every August 15, India celebrates its independence from British rule in 1947. The long movement for freedom brought together people across the country, with Mahatma Gandhi becoming one of the movement’s most influential leaders, using ahimsa, or nonviolence, and civil disobedience as powerful tools in the struggle for independence.

Independence Day is a celebration, but it is also a time to remember the courage and sacrifice behind it. Gandhi’s approach would go on to inspire movements around the world, and his message still feels relevant today: that change can come through persistence, unity, and peaceful action. It aligns well with the Siddhartha School’s values, and we hope everyone enjoyed the holiday and spent it with family and friends.
