Jullay to All!
Mr. Tsering Angchuk here, Siddhartha School foreign liaison and school secretary; I am happy to report that on March 3rd, we welcomed our dear 6th-10th grade students back to campus! We anticipate that government orders will allow kindergarten through the 5th grade back soon.
Teachers and staff waited by the brightly decorated school gate and presented students with flowers and white honorary katak scarves.
(above) Principal Dechen Wangmo (right) and music teacher Ms. Sonam Chorol (holding flowers) wore formal traditional dresses for the occasion.
(above) Miss Gaydon Wangmo of grade seven officiated the ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the first day of Spring 2022 classes.
There was a special outdoor program for the return day; teachers distributed chocolate to the students (below), and Mr. Angdu and Principal Dechen Wangmo delivered a welcome speech.
Additionally, a short skit in Ladakhi was performed (below) by social science teacher Miss Stanzin Angmo, junior English teacher Mrs. Sonam Angmo, and kindergarten teacher Mrs. Sonam Dolma. It was a comedy about the first day at the school.
There were also games that included a balloon bursting activity (below), which was a favorite among students.
And the traditional school assembly was observed (below) including exercises, prayers, and announcements.
For safety, the campus is outfitted with all the recommended COVID precautions.

We are in a great hope that soon the local government will issue an order in a week or a couple of weeks about reopening of schools for junior graders.
(above) Tsering Namgyal of third grade shows his excitement about returning to campus by making a drawing that says “I miss my school.”
I and all the teachers send our supporters wishes for an enjoyable springtime. We are so grateful to have the school in our community, and donors like you.
Sincerely,
Mr. Tsering Angchuk
Foreign Liaison, School Secretary
