The Partnership Welcomes Victor Reyes
as the New US Board President!
Jullay Siddhartha School Community,
I’m Victor Reyes, and it’s an honor and a privilege to assume the role of US board president. Foremost, I offer my sincerest thanks to our outgoing board president, Sydney Young. Her tireless work in fund-raising, campus improvements, board oversight, and so much more leaves big shoes to fill. I thank her for her four years of service and her help in transitioning me into this important role.
Siddhartha School has held a special place in my heart since 2012, when I made my first donation. Over the years, I became more involved with sponsorship and special projects and have visited the school in Ladakh, India, three times. Looking back, I had no idea how deep my connection would grow—to both the mission of the school and to Siddhartha School founder Khensur Rinpoche Lobzang Tsetan.
The Siddhartha supporter community is beyond special to me. So when I was invited to step into this role as board president, saying “yes” felt like a natural extension of my commitment—especially knowing I’ll be serving alongside such an exceptional group of board members.

Victor Reyes, President
I’ve been a Siddhartha School donor since 2012. Then in 2015, I became more involved through the Heroes Elevate Empathy Project, which fostered a bond between Minnequa Elementary School in Pueblo, Colorado, and the Siddhartha School. Over the years, I’ve cherished my connection with the Ladakhi community and the transformative teachings of Khensur Rinpoche. I eagerly look forward to returning to my second home in Ladakh, spending time with friends who have become like family, and continuing to support the school’s mission of academic and spiritual growth.
David Gardiner, Secretary
David is a professor in the Religion Department at Colorado College, where he teaches Buddhism and the religions of East Asia. His journey with Siddhartha School began in 2009 when he met Khensur Rinpoche. David co-founded BodhiMind Center in Colorado Springs and traveled to Ladakh to celebrate the school’s 20th anniversary. He looks forward to deepening his connection to the Siddhartha School community.
Mona Pearl Treyball, Treasurer
Mona is an artist, nurse, retired military veteran, and educator based in Mercer Island, Washington. A professor at the University of Colorado College of Nursing, Mona created academic programs to serve the unique needs of veterans. Her connection to Siddhartha School began in 2013 through her late husband, Charlie Treyball, who had a deep bond with Rinpoche. Mona is devoted to the school’s mission, and she sponsors two students in honor of Charlie’s legacy.
Together with Siddhartha School Partnership Executive Director Noelle Smikle Myers and you, our donors, we’re committed to upholding our dear Rinpoche’s legacy of delivering quality education to the children of Stok village, Ladakh, India.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Through your generosity, time, and prayers, you help ensure that Siddhartha School students have the opportunity to soar and make a meaningful impact in the world.
With sincere gratitude,
Victor Reyes
